Brazilian Street Carnaval 2008

I opened up the show for the 2008 Long Beach Brazilian Street Carnaval, put on by Sambala Samba School and RioBela Productions, this past sunday and had an amazing day. The weather was perfect, the people were beautiful and the food, drink and music was impeccable. Add in two beautiful parades and the day was a great success. I played my version of Girl From Ipanema, which I am in the midst of pre production for the studio recording and I was also honored to be joined on stage by Michael Sandoval, Jason Brancazio, Jason Lee Bruns and Marlon Fuentes! We were also honored to have The King of Carnaval in Rio de Janeiro, Alex de Oliveira and the Queen of Percussion of Mocidade de Independente, Thatiana Pagung, as guests from Brazil. They truly topped off the amazing efforts of Sambala Samba School and RioBela Productions who put on a fantastic day!!! Capirinhas were flowing!

State of things rant

So I was sitting out in my backyard with my I pod strapped on listening to "what I've done" by linkin park sipping on some wine and I was inspired to come inside and rant about the assholes who run this country and are stearing all of our futures into chaos... they have created some bullshit about "the terrorists" who are trying to get us and creating such a dupe of the public trying to make us alll believe their lies. They have allowed us to become a nation of lost sheep. We are allowed to diet on shit, becoming obese, unfocused and passive. Where is the passion??? Our children have become lost and we are so consumed with everything from reality tv to fast food that we have become so disconnected from each other as human beings. We live in fear and that is exaclty what the neo cons want....... America is becoming a wasteland because that freedom that is so precious to millions of people who try to come here is disappearing beneath our feet...... All in the name of fucking greed....... Big oil, drug companies, food companies that pump shit down our throats and all who let this happen........ Isnt there anyone out there who remembers that the people that we have elected are controlled by US....not the other way around... this is the big lie that the government will have us all believe....and the sad fact is that we are allowing them to control us and to tread all over the constitution that our forefathers had set forth in the creation of the free republic.......... WAKE UP and start to take action........
